My client is a disruptive Payments company who have recently been listed in the top 50 fintech start-ups by Beauhurst and are on track to be the 4th largest payment provider in the UK. This is a broad and varied role, supporting the Finance Director and wider finance team in all aspects of financial control including preparation and review of periodic financial results, analysis and interpretation of financial performance and oversight of the integrity of financial accounts across the company’s entities.

They are a relatively small team and have a lot to do and a lot of improvements to make – as a result they are looking for someone who has a flexible, proactive and “can do” attitude and a willingness to get involved to support both the team and the company. They must be an experienced, highly-motivated self-starter with significant and relevant financial accounting and analytical experience and someone who enjoys the challenges of working within an exciting and fast-growing organisation. Responsibilities for the Group Financial Controller

  • Lead and develop a team of 4-5 colleagues, providing guidance and technical expertise and helping them to strengthen and improve processes
  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and consolidate results at a group level to high standards and tight deadlines. CRS Jobs Group Financial Controller Manager UK
  • Provide accurate and insightful variance analysis vs. budget and vs prior month.
  • Perform monthly cost and expense reviews with cost centre managers
  • Perform robust balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all reported balances are accurate.
  • Oversee preparation of quarterly VAT returns, ensuring any due balances are paid promptly
  • Support monthly payroll cycle and reconciliations
  • Support Finance Reporting Manager with completion of statutory audit by providing required documentation and information to external auditors
  • Support preparation and update of rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Work with the Finance Director on other change initiatives and ad hoc tasks as required, including driving further automation and/or simplification across finance processes and ensure accounting processes are robust and reflect the changes we are experiencing or expect within the business CRS Jobs Group Financial Controller Manager UK

Responsibilities for the Group Financial Controller

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred).
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to drive improvement in accounting processes and controls
  • Excellent and up to date knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Knowledge of NetSuite
  • Experience in the payments industry or similar FinTech industries.
  • Experience in PE-backed, fast-growing businesses
