Pay: £25,000 to £27,000 per year depending on your experience.

We have an excellent career opportunity for the role of Senior Support Worker to join our team here at A Home for You based in the Worthing area. We currently have two supported living sites, one in a countryside setting and one in a seaside setting.

We’re a family-run company, supporting individuals with their Mental Health in a mix of flats and house-shares functioning as supported living accommodation, enabling them to live independently in the community and supporting them to access the wider community and lead increasingly independent lives.

You will form part of a team with other senior team members and Support Workers, working together for successful outcomes for our residents. You will have additional support from the Supported Living Manager and Registered Manager.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Proactive person who can use your own decision making
  • Due to the needs of the people we care for, we can currently only hire male staff.
  • Previous Senior Support Worker or Team leader experience
  • NVQ level 3 or above, ideally.
  • Willingness to learn and develop your skills
  • Good Attitude and work ethic
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Empathetic to people and kind
  • Good communication skills
  • A desire to genuinely help other people and make a difference
  • A full UK driving licence and your own car is essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting young adults and adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.
  • Providing high standards of care and support for service users, in line with care and support plans, compliance with CQC regulations and the care & support policies and procedures
  • Identifying needs and preferences for each individual and providing personal care
  • Encourage good community relationships by promoting a variety of activities
  • Accurately report, record and maintain records as required and working to care plans
  • Be a kind, empathetic and people person who works well in a team.

Salary: £27,000.00 per year

Top 10 Tips for Interview 

  1. Keep your mind and body, relaxed.
  2. Never try to give a long answer to an interview question. Keep your answer short and effective.
  3. If you don’t know the answer to any question, do not try to mislead the interviewer because he knows everything. Here your answer should be just some simple words “Sorry Sir/Ma’am, I do not know the answer”.

Do not try to give the answer in which language you are not comfortable because in this situation. You would not be able to give your 100% in that language.
  9. How much time you will stay in the interview room, Do not be out of focus. Your focus should be on the interviewer. Do not miss any single word out of what he would be asking.
